Butrose: The Meaning Behind the Name

What is the definition of Butrose?

a) a bum that is rosy

b) a rose that grows out of a bum

c) the collaboration of our last names

d) a rose that looks like a bum

e) all of the above

If you picked e), you're most definitely wrong. Thanks for playing.

Butrose is obviously the most logical form of Jesse Butler and Kat Froese. In these modern days, women need not take on their husband's last names. Some people just keep their own names, some men will take their lady's names, and some people hyphenate. Why not be even more 21st Century and combine our names into one super awesome hybrid of Butler-Froese? So, out comes Butrose, a name that most surely will never, ever result in the teasing and tears of future children...

If you believe the above description, you're gullible. Just kidding. Well, maybe you're a little gullible. It's not entirely true. It came up one day when discussing whether I'd take Jesse's last name, or if we'd do something else. Butrose is a silly joke. Can you imagine the torment our future children would have to endure? As it stands, I will become a Butler once we're officially married. Until then, we're Butrose. Stop and smell the flowers. It's going to be a fragrant four months.

Peace,
Kat

  1. I think Froesler would work.
Then your kids could tell the interesting story of how the name originated from your ancestors who invented the proses from which ice-cream is made.

  4. Have fun with all the paperwork - professionally I use my married last name but due to the amount of paperwork I have yet to change it over officially. The marriage license also takes about 10-12 wks after the wedding date too. 4 months eh? If so, that's awesome and good luck with the planning! (I planned mine in under 3!)

  6. Just to clarify, the license I mean is the official one you get after the wedding. The paperwork you need to have before the wedding just takes a trip to town hall and paying a clerk. :)
