December 1st: 30 days to go!

Tonight when I got home from work Jesse was there and presented me with a gift. "Happy December," he said. He explained that it's my wedding, Christmas and birthday present. This makes sense to me, since we'll be neglecting the gifts and cards side of Christmas, as well as gift-giving for our back-to-back birthdays. Time and resources are a little more sparse this year for some odd reason...

Coming home to a gift from Jesse was a nice surprise. Inside a wall-paper wrapped box was an awesome pair of Huron Canadian-made, authentic sued moccasins. I've wanted a pair for a long time but have been too cheap to get myself a pair. Now I get to have warm feet this winter.

I took this gift-receiving opportunity to hand over the wedding gift I bought Jesse way back in August. I had bought him a flask off of Etsy. I had searched "whale", since Jesse likes whales, and up came hand-drawn prints of whales on flasks - a perfect gift for a whale of a man. Cheese, cheese, pardon my cheese. I'm in love okay?! Anyway, I thought it was a blue whale, but apparently its a sperm whale, which I learned is Jesse's favourite. That was a good fluke!

Now that we're all gifted up for the season, we can spend the next while - 30 days if you include today - prepping spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally for this wedding and marriage. There are tons of little details to take care of yet, but I'm starting to get more excited as the date becomes more of a reality and not just some distant thought in the far away future. We've got lots to do, but lots more to look forward to!
