At our engagement party a few weeks ago, a friend suggested we register at Ten Thousand Villages where she volunteers. "Get stocked up on coffee and chocolate!" she said. "What a great idea!" I said. So, we've registered for a few items - not just coffee (!!) - at Ten Thousand Villages, and you can find our registry by clicking here.
The good thing about TTV is that they offer goods from around the world, where the artisans and farmers are properly paid. Also, if you wanted to give a gift but don't have a large cash-flow, this is a good place to find gifts under $20.
Other gift ideas we couldn't register for:
- your love :)
- home made gifts
- cast iron bakeware (ie. muffin and cake pans)
- large cast iron frying pan (bigger than 12" - have one of those already)
- stock our liqueur cabinet (for example, Jesse likes whisky)
- second-hand items and/or things we have on our registry that you have but don't use (we love the idea of reuse/recycle gifts rather than pumping the Canadian economy!)
Of course, the most important thing to us is that our guests come and spend time with us. We appreciate your presence far more than your presents! People are more valuable than gifts!
That's all for now. Have a wonderful day.
